FRANCHISEE REQUIREMENTS
At Crumbed, we’re building South Africa’s next iconic fried-chicken brand
loud, fast, flavour-driven and obsessed with customer experience.
We’re looking for franchise partners who bring energy, discipline and an operator mindset.
Every application is evaluated on its own merits, but the core requirements are:
1. True Operator Mindset
- Passion for people, hospitality and building a brand in your community.
- Hands-on approach — Crumbed franchisees are owner-operators, not absentee landlords.
2. Business & Entrepreneurial Ability
- Previous business ownership or management experience (advantageous).
- Strong entrepreneurial drive and willingness to hustle.
- Good business acumen and financial discipline.
3. Food Service & Operations
- Experience in fast food, restaurant or food service environments (a strong plus).
- Comfortable with systems, service flow, prep standards and high-volume operations.
- Not afraid of long hours, fast pace and day-to-day problem-solving.
4. People & Culture Fit
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to motivate, manage and grow a team.
- Service-obsessed: clean store, fast operations, consistent quality — every day.
- Positive energy: dynamic, self-motivated and resilient.
5. Understanding of Franchising
- Willingness to follow the Crumbed system and brand standards.
- Open to training, audits, support structures and continuous improvement.
- Team player in the wider Crumbed network.
6. Commitment & Time
- Willing to be personally involved in daily operations — especially for the first 12 months.
- Long-term commitment to building the brand.
7. Financial Requirements
- The required capital and liquidity to set up and operate a Crumbed store.
- Ability to secure the location, equipment, fit-out and initial working capital.
